Meet our Newest Team Member, Leah Neumann

October 31, 2018

With our recent growth, we needed a new team member who could keep our team organized, well-trained and operating at full steam. We scoured dozens of resumes for the perfect fit. We hoped this individual would not only be highly qualified in operations and project management, but that he or she would also be passionate about healthcare and Maxwell's role in helping improve it.

It was a tall order, but we found our perfect fit. She checks every box and more.

We are proud to introduce you to our rockstar project manager, Leah Neumann.

Leah brings nearly a decade of military health care operations and administrative experience to the Maxwell team. In her role as project manager, she keeps our team running at optimal performance. Some of her duties include: Managing new team member onboarding, training and project schedules, monitoring team member projects and scopes, creating training content and so much more.

Directly preceding her role with Maxwell, Leah served as a medical support assistant supervisor at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. There, she provided direct training, supervision and evaluation to 23 outpatient medical support assistant staff. Additionally, she was responsible for her department’s scheduling, communications and reporting.

Leah served as an executive officer in the Army Reserves. During her tenure, she expertly planned, coordinated, organized and directed all operations of her platoon and implemented standards and methods to measure training effectiveness.

Leah holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Saint Cloud State University. She also holds certifications in health care administration and as an emergency medical technician.

In her free time, Leah running (She’s completed four full marathons), hiking and spending time outdoors.  She and her husband recently bought a camper, so they could spend weekends out exploring Minnesota and Wisconsin’s small towns, state parks and other camp grounds with their dog, Colt, in tow.

Leah is passionate about healthcare and Maxwell’s role in helping improve it. Here’s what Leah says about her enthusiasm for our industry:

When I was going through my undergraduate degree, I had my sights set on the health care field. After a few semesters and learning more about the industry, I decided emergency medicine was my niche.

During college, I joined the Army Reserves to train as a Combat Medic/EM. Simultaneously, I continued my collegiate studies to work toward becoming a Physician’s Assistant.

After graduation, with a degree in Biology, I commissioned in the United States Army as a medical service officer. The army sent me to hospital administration and operations training and this is where I learned the world of operations and project management, and ultimately found my passion.

I love that my work combines the fast-paced and ever-changing world of operations and project management with the ability to make a difference in people’s lives in the healthcare setting. I enjoy the fact that I have a part in creating efficiencies and implementing changes that ultimately lead to better and more timely care for patients.

Here's Leah with her husband in Italy.
