Who could ask for moore than the one and only Maurice Moore? (Sorry, we had to do. We can't resist a pun.)
As a Maxwell consultant, Maurice specializes in home health and hospice EMR implementations and operational assessments.
Prior to joining the MHA team, Maurice worked as the implementation consultant for Homecare Homebase (HCHB). His duties there included helping home health and hospice clients implement the HCHB suite, managing projects and mentoring associate consultants.
Maurice holds a bachelor's degree in business management and a master’s in business administration.
To help you get to know Maurice a bit moore (yeah, we did it again), we did a quick Q&A with him.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: Travel, grill, volunteer, hike and spend time with family and friends.
Q:Why are you passionate about the work you do for home health and hospice care?
A:I am passionate about the work I do because I realize I make a difference in patients’ lives even though I am not actually hands on with the patient. My goal is to educate and prepare clinicians to comfortably and effectively leverage the EMR system. When an EMR is fully optimized to an organization and the clinicians feel empowered to use it to its fullest extent, patient care quality and satisfaction skyrocket--and that's why we're all here, right?
I’ve had two family members on hospice. I've seen first hand the importance of clinicians feeling comfortable with their charting while interacting with patients and their family members. I'm proud to be a part of ensuring technology enables care rather than detracting from it.
Q:What trends/challenges/opportunities do you see in the industry?
A: As compliance and regulations remain a big focus, EMRs will make adherence easier. I am optimistic for the future of EMR systems and how they will continue to expand and adapt to the ever-changing needs of patient care. Users just have to make sure they're minding updates, optimizing and re-training their staff to best leverage these powerful tools.
